Getting your RBS Training Certificate:
Upon completion of the online California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Training course, you can print your official California RBS training certificate. Your certificate will also be emailed to the email address we have on file so you can print it later if needed, or you can log back into your account at anytime to retrieve your certificate.

Benefits of RBS Certification:
Although California RBS training is not mandatory, being certified may help protect your organization against stiff penalties if an alcohol seller/server is involved in an alcohol service situation.

In order for licensees to be eligible to receive mitigated penalties, they must provide proof of successful completion of a certified RBS training program by the involved server/seller at the time of Notification of Violation interview. Such training must have been successfully completed prior to the date of violation(s) resulting in disciplinary action.

NOTE: Some jurisdictions in California do require RBS training for their servers, managers, and other staff. The list below is NOT all inclusive. Check with your local jurisdiction for more information about requirements in your area.

• City of Solana Beach – RBS training is required within 30 days of being hired. Certification is valid for 3 years from the date of course completion.
• City of Berkeley – RBS training is required within 90 days of being hired. Certification is valid for 2 years from the date of course completion.
• City of Rohnert - RBS training is required within 60 days of being hired.
• City of Petaluma - RBS training is required within 90 days of being hired. Certification is valid for 3 years from the date of course completion.
