This BASSET online alcohol certification course is required to obtain your Illinois BASSET certification card. This BASSET training course is designed to promote the legal and responsible sale and service of alcoholic beverages in Illinois and is valid for both On Premise and Off Premise certification.

BASSET certification, "Beverage Alcohol Sellers and Servers Education and Training" was created by the State of Illinois to teach sellers and servers of alcoholic beverages the importance of serving alcohol responsibly. Bartenders, waiters, and their managers, who complete this training, are more successful in stopping underage drinking and in recognizing the signs of intoxication.

This responsible beverage course meets the requirements set forth by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission ILCC.

Course Features

Our online training course is a 5 hour HTML5 based interactive course with full audio narration and engaging real-world scenarios for the best user experience and information retention. Our training course works on all computer devices including: smart phones, tablets, laptops, and PCs. If needed, you can conveniently switch back and forth between your phone (or tablet) and your computer, while taking the course, and you will always be returned to your most recent progress. Once you create an account you can log in from any computer or mobile device and train anytime, anywhere.

You have 6 months from enrollment to complete this course. You can log in and out of your training account and your place in the course will be saved.

After successfully completing this BASSET course and the 20 multiple choice question final exam, you will be able to print your temporary BASSET certification card from your own printer.

Course Outline

Our online BASSET Server Training Course contains four units of instruction, a course review, a supplement covering alcohol sales and service laws specific to Illinois, and an online final exam. Below is a detailed course outline of topics covered in the course.

Official BASSET Card

Upon successfully completing the BASSET course final exam, you will be able to immediately print your temporary certificate. It will also be emailed to you. On a weekly basis, BASSETpermit.com submits BASSET completion records to the Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC).

The ILCC will issue your official BASSET card and mail it to you at the address you provided during registration.

Your Illinois BASSET certification is valid for 3 years from the date of course completion unless you work in a municipality where re-certification is required more often.

The BASSET certification card must be carried by the person whose name appears on the card and is the person selling and/or serving the alcoholic beverage.

Basset Card Reprint: You can now re-print your official Basset card directly from the ILCC. You will need the Student's Last Name, DOB, and their training student ID.

Your Student ID will be printed on the temporary certificate we provided at completion. You can log back into your account to view that temporary certificate again.

BASSET Training Requirements

Beginning July 1, 2018, All counties in Illinois are required to have BASSET certifications.

BASSET Program Approval

Training providers must be approved by the ILCC. TrainingNow uses the approved BASSETpermit course that meets all the requirements of the State of Illinois. You can view the BASSETpermit.com program approval on the Illinois Liquor Control Commission website.
