OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (29 CFR 1910.1030) requires employers to provide information and training to workers. Everyone in the workplace has the potential of exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens and/or Other Potentially Infectious Materials (OPIM’s), therefore it is advisable to have every employee in the workplace complete training.

Employers must offer this training on initial assignment, and at least annually thereafter, and when new or modified tasks or procedures affect a worker's risk of occupational exposure.
